So working backwards from that one goal I decided first to build a bag without stitching. Over time stitches will fail, unravel and essentially dissolve under long term stress and wear. Second was using hard wearing bridle leather. Really thick leather for all the load bearing parts and slightly thinner parts where shape is needed. And lastly the bag clasp was a point of focus. I wanted something that was simple and would not fail.
